The M!A Summer Sunday’s brings together local visual artists, musicians, and dancers for spontaneous creative action! A unique opportunity for audiences to see well-known local creators exploring their craft in collaborative, multidiscipline ensembles. This show is FREE and an excellent afternoon family event!

– Photograph USA IBC competitors
– Capture “the moment”
– Create sculptural lighting for
bodies in motion
– Practice Lois’ technique while

dancers’ form, energy and passion

Duncan Dance Performs Saturday
May 20, 2010
Duncan Dance will perform May 22nd, around 12 pm. Dancers will be Marlena Duncan and company member Natasha Casely-Hayford. We will be performing a new modern dance piece that is about clarity, release, a sense of freedom from letting go.
Marlena Duncan is a dance educator, performer, and choreographer proficient in modern, jazz, tap, ballet, and hip hop. She is certified to teach all levels of Pilates mat. Marlena graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance and Choreography, from the University of Southern Mississippi. Upon graduation, she studied in New York for three years with professional choreographer’s Teri and Oliver Steele, Sean Curran, Jennifer Archbald, Andrea Woods, Pam Pietro, Nia Love, and many others. Marlena received her Pilates mat certification from Dance New Amsterdam in New York City under the instruction of Teri Lee Steele. While on faculty at lower manhattan’s prestigious dance center, Dance New Amsterdam, Marlena taught Pilates mat, choreographed, and performed in student and faculty concerts.
Marlena is currently Director of Duncan Dance, a modern dance company, and dance faculty at Power APAC, academic and performing arts complex.

thanks to all who attended Jackson Art Collective meeting last night.In the last 20 years I have not see more enthusiasm for all art forms, individually and the desire for collaboration among all disciplines locally with the need to connect regionally. Jackson is fortunate to have so much willing talent.

The new North Midtown Arts Center would like to invite you to see new works and improvements at our studios on December 18th from 5-9 pm. Come browse through our galleries and hallways to find the perfect piece of art for your home, or just enjoy the evening with good company. Artists in house will be present to guide you through our facility and give you information about the year to come.
Our guest artist is Anthony Difatta, large portraits and abstracts. Pearl River Glass Studio will also be open for the evening.
